The Farran Family
God has allowed us the unique privilege of serving overseas as missionaries since 2007. We spent 8 years in South Africa, starting an HIV/AIDS Hospice Care Home for a few years and then providing theological training for Zulu pastors. Another part of our ministry was serving the missionaries as the team leader. In this role we learned how to best serve the missionaries and help them thrive in ministry. In 2014 ABWE asked us to take the Regional Director role for East Africa. As we prayed about this, we saw that God was giving us an opportunity to expand our passion to serve and equip others so that the gospel could continue to spread. In 2015 our family moved to Tanzania in order to serve the missionaries of East Africa.
When we took the role of Regional Director for East Africa the region was expanding. There were missionaries in 3 countries and 2 more countries had missionaries on the way. Because of unforeseen circumstances, God redirected the missionaries in 4 of these 5 countries. When the region shrank to one country with only 5 missionaries, we began seeking the Lord’s guidance to see if He was redirecting.
We absolutely loved serving missionaries and wanted to continue serving as a Regional Director. When the need for a Regional Director in Western Europe became known, we began praying about this opportunity with ABWE leadership to see if it would be a good fit. After much prayer and counsel, we accepted the role of Regional Director for Western Europe.
We moved to Lisbon, Portugal in July 2018 to oversee the 100+ ABWE missionaries in Portugal, Spain, France, England, Ireland, Germany, Norway and Italy. There is still a great need for the gospel in these Post-Christian countries.
It is a joy and privilege to build into missionaries in Western Europe!

Kyle: When I was 5, the Lord used the verses that my parents taught me to make me understand my need for Him. I praise God for His drawing that caused me to believe in Him as my only hope for salvation. During a missions trip to Papua New Guinea, God burdened me with a desire to be part of His work in taking the gospel to the world. God has made seeing and savoring His glory the greatest joy of my life. I long to share with others the glory of God and the greatness of what He has done, so that He may become their all-satisfying treasure. I know that His power will accomplish exactly what He desires, and will work through us as His instruments to glorify Himself. Kyle has a Master of Ministry in Organizational Leadership from Clarks Summit University and a BS in Bible from Lancaster Bible College. |
Heather: At the age of 4, I asked my mother how I could become a child of God. I count it a blessing that He chose at such a young age to draw me to Himself and provide a Christian family. It was through a mission trip during college that God placed the desire for missions in my heart. While on a mountain top in Mexico, God overwhelmed me with His greatness. I realized that the only life worth living was a life with His power and His love flowing through it. No career that I could muster up on my own would ever bring complete joy. It is a thrill to me to turn my life over to God in full-time missions. Heather is an RN with her degree from Cedarville University. |
